RECYCLED PLASTIC

The world's annual consumption of plastic has increased from around 5 million tonnes in the 1950s to nearly 100 million tonnes today. Packaging represents the largest single sector of plastics use in the UK. It accounts for 35% of UK plastics consumption and nearly half of all packaged goods use plastic. Two main types of plastic are recycled: clear and opaque. These are chopped into flakes, formed into pellets, then melted down for manufacture into various new products
